how to keep carplay from popping up

This guide explains how to resolve the CarPlay pop-up issue.

  • Disabling Auto-Launch of CarPlay:

    • Press the two squares icon at the bottom right of the screen to view running apps.
    • Close the CarPlay app; however, it may pop up again due to background connections being enabled.
    • To prevent this, open the Car Auto settings by tapping the cog (hexagon) icon in the bottom right.
    • Turn off background connections to stop CarPlay from forcing itself open repeatedly.
    • Once disabled, closing CarPlay will no longer cause it to auto-launch.
  • Connecting to Internet via Wi-Fi or Hotspot:

    • Swipe down on the screen and tap on Internet.
    • Turn on Wi-Fi; this action automatically disables the hotspot.
    • Select your available Wi-Fi network from the list. If the network is not initially visible, use the “See All” option to display all networks.
    • Confirmation of internet connection is demonstrated by opening a web browser (Chrome in this case) and accessing content.
  • Using Bluetooth for Calls and Music:

    • Press the four squares icon at the bottom right corner.
    • Navigate to the Bluetooth section (make sure it’s Bluetooth, not BT music).
    • View recent call history or access the full contact list to make calls.
    • To switch music playback from apps like Spotify to Bluetooth music streaming, select the Bluetooth music option.
    • This enables music to play directly through the car’s audio system without CarPlay.
