Reconnect the Harness Properly
Plug it in firmly until you hear a click/snap. -
Connect the RCA Plugs Correctly

-
Secure the AUXV Plug (If No Cargo Camera)
Leave it plugged in or tucked away so it doesn’t rattle. -
Check the Main Connector Plug
Disconnect it and inspect closely. -
Inspect All Pins
Look for any pins that are:- Bent
- Pushed out
- Misaligned
-
Focus on Bottom Corner Pins
Pay extra attention to the black pins at the bottom corners—they commonly cause issues. -
Fix Any Damaged Pins
Carefully straighten bent pins and ensure all pins sit evenly and flush. -
Reconnect Everything Securely
Plug everything back in firmly and ensure all connections are tight. -
Test the Backup Camera
Start the vehicle and check if the camera is working properly. -
If It Still Doesn’t Work
Scroll to the very bottom of the page and book a one on one video call so we can try and resolve this issue.
Step 5: The RST Button
You may be wondering what the RST button is and where to find it. The RST (reset) button performs a soft reset, meaning it simply turns the unit off and back on without deleting any settings or data. This is useful for fixing issues like a frozen screen, glitches, or features not working properly, as it clears temporary system errors and allows the unit to restart normally.
How to Reset the Unit Using the RST Button
-
Locate the RST Button
Find the small button labeled “RST.” Make sure it is not the microphone. -
Confirm You Have the Right Button
Double-check before pressing, do NOT press the microphone. -
Choose the Correct Tool
Use a thin pin or small tool that fits easily into the hole without force. (could break something) -
Insert the Tool Carefully
Gently place the tool into the RST button hole. Adjust the angle if needed. -
Press and Hold the Button
Apply firm pressure and hold for about 10 seconds. -
Count to Ensure Timing
Count “10 Mississippi” to make sure you hold it long enough. -
Release the Button
Remove the tool after holding for the full duration. -
Wait for the Unit to Restart
The screen should begin turning on shortly after. -
If It Doesn’t Work
Repeat the process, ensuring correct button, proper tool, and full 10-second hold.
